Outdoor Retailer Show

Mountain Link visited Salt Lake City for the annual Outdoor Retailer Show. The event hosts outdoor adventure companies ranging from paddling to backpacking to climbing. It is a great chance to see all the new gear that is coming out.

Mountain Link spent time with Ground, the new outdoor clothing sponsor of Mountain Link. Ground was an instrumental part of our recent Everest expedition and JJ Justman's expeditions on Broad Peak and K2 in Pakistan

Shasta Summits

Once again, our teams on Shasta enjoyed a beautiful five days on one of California's most beautiful glaciated peaks. At 14, 162 feet, Shasta boasts a seldomly seen playground for aspiring mountaineers.

As one of our climbers put it, "Shasta is way better than say Mount Rainier. You don't just get out of a car in a parking lot surrounded by hundreds of other climbers. On Shasta, you hike through beautiful forests just to get to the mountain. On summit day, we only saw one other climber on our route"!

Jeff Hansen has Bunny Feet

What's the deal! I swear you have to rub Jeff Hansen's feet for good luck because he just led another team to the summit of Europe's highest mountain, Mount Elbrus in Russia. Or maybe it was also the fact that Anatoly was with him as well. Anatoly and Robert Link in 1990 made the summit of Everest during the International Peace Climb, which continues to hold the record for the most successful expedition on Mount Everest.

Bass Ale Promotion

This past spring Mountain Link was approached by Bass Ale to assist in their pursuit of adventure. The promotion, a free adventure to Lake Como, Italy through Mountain Link was given away to one lucky winner and two friends this past week. If you participated and did not win, you still have an opportunity to join the team September 14 - 24, 2006.
